PANTONE FASHION COLOR REPORT SPRING 2015

This season, cooler and softer color choices with subtle warm tones follow a minimalistic en plein air theme, taking a cue from nature. Here is how the new colors are described by Ms. Leatrice Eiseman,  Executive Director,  Pantone Color Institute:

PANTONE 14-4313 Aquamarine

"The lead color for women for the Spring/Summer 2015 season, PANTONE 14-4313 Aquamarine is an airy blue with a dreamy feel. Cool and calming, ethereal Aquamarine is a shade with a wet and watery feel. Open and expansive, this restful blue also acts as a stress reducer."
-  Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 14-4102 Glacier Gray - PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala

PANTONE 16-4725 Scuba Blue

An invigorating turquoise, PANTONE 16-4725 Scuba Blue conveys a sense of carefree playfulness. Even though a cool shade, the vibrancy of Scuba Blue adds a splash of excitement to the palette. Scuba Blue offers a feeling of escape as it is reminiscent of a tropical ocean. This stirring and energizing shade takes us off to an exotic paradise that is pleasant and inviting, even if only a fantasy.
-  Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue - PANTONE 14-5714 Lucite Green

PANTONE 14-5714 Lucite Green

Generally not thought of as a fashion color, though it does come back from time to time, PANTONE 14-5714 Lucite Green is a soothing green shade whose time has really come again. Fresh and clarifying, cool and refreshing, Lucite Green has a minty glow. Light in weight and also in tone, Lucite Green seems almost transparent
-  Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue - PANTONE 16-4725 Scuba Blue

PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue

Reliable and thoughtful, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue inspires calm, confidence and harmony. Serving as an anchor to the Spring/Summer 2015 palette, Classic Blue is a shade that is strong and reliable. Just as with the sea, because of its waterborne qualities, this Classic Blue is perceived as thoughtful and introspective.

-  Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 16-1328 Sandstone - PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala

PANTONE 14-1213 Toasted Almond

Bringing balance to the coolness of the Spring/Summer 2015 color range is PANTONE 14-1213 Toasted Almond. A sun-tanned neutral, Toasted Almond offers comforting warmth and is indicative of a spontaneous spring, summer feeling. Timeless and versatile, Toasted Almond is an organic shade that speaks to authenticity and all that is natural.
-  Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 16-3310 Lavender Herb

PANTONE 16-1720 Strawberry Ice

Aptly named, PANTONE 16-1720 Strawberry Ice is suggestive of a cooling and refreshing delicacy, yet its warmth as a color is quite appealing. Subtle and charming, Strawberry Ice is an ideal shade for Spring/Summer 2015. Both tasty and tasteful, Strawberry Ice is a confection color that evokes a feeling of being “in the pink,” emitting a flattering and healthy glow.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 14-1213 Toasted Almond  - PANTONE 15-1247 Tangerine

PANTONE 15-1247 Tangerine

Spontaneous and gregarious, PANTONE 15-1247 Tangerine is a juicy orange shade that is energizing, yet not jarring to the eye. Versatile Tangerine is striking enough to stand on its own and adds vitality to a printed pattern. Good natured and friendly, but with a tangy edge, this fun-loving color invites a smile.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 14-1213 Toasted Almond - PANTONE 16-1720 Strawberry Ice

PANTONE 13-0720 Custard

Just as the name implies, PANTONE 13-0720 Custard is a delicious and delectable yellow. Sweet and sunny, Custard is a cheering tone that brings thoughts of pleasant relaxation and comfort food. Engaging with its soft and mellow warmth and full of good feelings, subtle Custard has an affable and easy disposition.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue

PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala

Interesting on its own and a wonderful contrast for other hues, PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala serves as the foundation to the Spring/Summer 2015 palette. Sensual and bold, delicious Marsala is a daringly inviting tone that nurtures; exuding confidence and stability while feeding the body, mind and soul. Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this robust shade incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness.

- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 16-1328 Sandstone  - PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue

PANTONE 14-4102 Glacier Gray

More dominant for men than women in Spring/Summer 2015, PANTONE 14-4102 Glacier Gray is an unobtrusive gray that contrasts and enhances; bouncing off other shades without taking away from them as it slips into the background to allow other colors to take center stage. Nature’s most perfect neutral, Glacier Gray is a shade that is timeless. Quietly assuring and peacefully relaxing, Glacier Gray, is above all, constant.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 16-4120 Dusk Blue - PANTONE 18-0135 Treetop

PANTONE 16-4120 Dusk Blue

PANTONE 16-4120 Dusk Blue is perennially a favorite shade for men. Reminiscent of the blue sky above, Dusk Blue is ultimately dependable and faithful. In a world that has become increasingly chaotic, the nostalgic Dusk Blue enables us to retreat into a safe place of quiet blue calm.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 14-4102 Glacier Gray - PANTONE 18-0135 Treetop

PANTONE 18-0135 Treetop

Speaking to restoration and new beginnings, PANTONE 18-0135 Treetop is a natural and fertile green. Ideal when used as a background to other shades, Treetop is a healthy harmonious green from nature which offers a reassuring presence. Physiologically affecting the nervous system, this soothing green hue causes us to breathe slowly and deeply, helping the heart to relax by slowing the production of stress hormones.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 14-4102 Glacier Gray - PANTONE 16-4120 Dusk Blue

PANTONE 18-0538 Woodbine

PANTONE 18-0538 Woodbine, is a tropical green that could best be described as nature’s neutral. A classic yellow-green that could be used with anything and everything, Woodbine is a hue of foliage, grass and growing plants. Inexorably linked to our sense of smell, Woodbine is evocative of a freshly mown lawn or a flourishing palm frond.
- Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 16-3310 Lavender Herb - PANTONE 17-4014 Titanium

PANTONE 16-1328 Sandstone

PANTONE 16-1328 Sandstone is a stable and grounded shade. Rugged and woodsy, Sandstone is a complex neutral that has a warming presence. Earthy and real, Sandstone provides us with a return to nature and what is beautiful, simple and memorable.
-  Pairs Well With: - PANTONE 18-1438 Marsala - PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue

PANTONE 17-4014 Titanium

The King, His Castle, His Royal Design Engineer and Britsma™ Design Group

The King, His castle and His Royal Design Engineer
The King and his entourage are getting ready to go on an expedition choosing the East gate of the castle to exit. Except, his Royal Design Engineer designed and built the castle's East draw bridge too short, obviously missing to execute the proper pre-design survey and study of the appropriate requirements and of the structure area of the castle!!!

The King, His castle and Britsma™ Design Group
Unlike the King's Royal Design Engineer and perhaps of nowadays many Designers alike (costing their Clients/King many more in extras on their project by completion time), if our Britsma™ Design Group team was to have been assigned to design this draw bridge for His excellency the King, we would have (as is the first step we always take) visited the location site of the draw bridge, expeditiously study and survey all related areas, the castle wall size, depth and width of the water trench around the castle, all other related structures and once all verified twice, only then we would have proceeded with the planning and design of the draw bridge, demolition and construction of all related structures have a pre-construction meeting with the demolition crew and the builders and supervise all the work off-site and the on-site installation making sure that all details in the execution of the work is done to perfection and to the last detail per our design. Then finally, we would have tested the operation of the draw bridge ensuring that there were no deficiencies or inefficiencies and only upon our sign-off approval, the King would have been notified that His draw bridge at the East side of His castle is in place and ready to be used whenever he pleased to do so!

Although this would have been followed to the letter by our team back then, nowadays too it is followed to the "same letter" by our Design team, as that's the only way we contact our work on every project we are assigned, no matter of its location, size and/or budget! This is the only way we contact our business; this is the only way we provide our services; this is the only way we contact ourselves in order to make sure our own King’s (Client’s) project is expedited on target, on time and on budget!

Britsma™, our Clients, their Investment
At Britsma™ Design Group, we believe that each one of our Clients and their project are as Unique as their targeted consumer market they serve and all our services and work, Design execution and details are executed accordingly!

As in the parallel case of the King’s bridge described above, where the initial construction of the castle may have not been the same all around, the same happens to many structures and buildings today. BUT, most importantly in addition to the actual structures, we believe that no demographic consumer market is alike to another and that EVERY CLIENT TOO IS AS UNIQUE AS THE CONSUMER MARKET THEY SERVE and that the design of their project deserves to be executed appropriately! That is what is dictated to all our professionals in order to be able to deliver to our Clients an on target successful end result of their Retail Investment Venture!

Britsma™, our Services
Prior to the start of the design of every project assignment, our design professionals spend extensive amount of time in research & studies of a Client's business operation, services and brand (Who he is), his new business location/market requirements, area tenants mix, merchandising, customer services, targeted consumer market & serving community, local competition, project's location & requirements, condition & orientation of land and/or existing building structure, relationship to all its neighborhood locations, Landlord and/or Owner requirements & restrictions, local and national building codes, application of the ADA act, LEED requirements, among many others depending of the type of his business.

In all, as the character of the design and the environment of every retail/commercial facility plays an important role on its overall success. We believe that the better understanding we have of all variables of a project, the better possibility we have executing our planning & design and achieving a maximum return on a Client's investments in his/her venture on target, on time and on budget.

We will be more than happy to answer any of your questions in relation to our services and the particular needs of your commercial, retail and hospitality project.

Fall 2014: Color that Transcends Time & Place

Top 10 Women's Colors

Whether it was a particular decade or a trip to a special place, designers are fascinated with the beauty of the past and the spirit of the present—recreating it with color, fabric and style this fall season. Design and color were inspired by everything from books, artisan crafts, photography and retro architecture, to exotic landscapes and the children of rock legends. The diverse color palette takes us on an adventure spanning 100 years—a season roused by various vantage points from past and present.
“This is a season of untypical colors—more reflective of the imagination and ingenuity, which makes for an artful collection of colors and combinations not bound by the usual hues for fall,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "There is a feminine mystique that is reflected throughout the palette, inspired by the increasing need for women everywhere to create an individual imprint."
Sangria, an exotic red that evokes a sense of glamorous adventures and faraway destinations is enhanced by Aurora Red, a more sophisticated shade that adds verve and spark.
The grown-up reds are followed by two extremes of the purple family that intrigue the eye and inspire the imagination. Mauve Mist, a romantic and elegant purple shade, reminds us of the deco era and stimulates a sense of femininity and empowerment, while Radiant Orchid, a captivating and adaptable shade, enchants the complete spectrum. Pair either with Cypress, a majestic and powerful green; indicative of its name, this shade has a towering presence and serves as a stunning perennial.
With its slightly green undertone, Bright Cobalt offers a subtle twist on the traditional cobalt blue, which unifies this season’s blues. Likewise, Royal Blue, which is both evocative and dignified, provides more complexity and excitement than the average navy, while still remaining versatile. Pair Bright Cobalt with Sangria and Cypress, or Royal Blue with Mauve Mist and Aluminum, a futuristic stainless steel shade that serves as a complex neutral.
Similar to Sangria, Cognac’s name alone leads to glamorous illusions. This classy and cultured brown takes a typical autumnal color to a sumptuous realm, making the shade unexpectedly ideal for evening wear. Adding a ray of sunlight and warmth, optimistic Misted Yellow alludes to the promise of spring to come. Both Cognac and Misted Yellow will also be prevalent in prints—a surprisingly popular trend this fall season.
For more than 20 years, Pantone, the global authority on color, has surveyed the designers of New York Fashion Week and beyond to bring you the season’s most important color trends. This report previews the most prominent hues for fall 2014.
